Camtasia 3.1.3 For FREE …

Software 2 Comments

Ok, I’ve heard lots of people say that they want to create products, but don’t quite know where to start. Some people suggest doing a “screen-capture” type of product and sell that as a tutorial video.

It’s a really good concept, and one that works well … the only problem being “how can I record what I do on my screen?”

Well, I’d usually recommend Camtasia. There’s a free 30 day trial version available at www.techsmith.com

… however, for a limited time only you’ve got a chance to have a full blown version, no time limits or anything, for the grand old price of NOTHING :-)

Ok, so it’s an older version, but it still works really well, and you can also upgrade to the very latest version (5 at the time of going to press!) for a much reduced price.

You can download the full version of Camtasia 3.1.3 here:

http://download.techsmith.com/camtasiastudio/enu/312/camtasiaf.exe

And you can request your software key here:

Have fun recording your screen captures, won’t you, eh?

Video - Overview Of Day 2

Internet Marketing No Comments

You know, you really needed to be there. But I guess some people couldn’t make it because of other commitments …

… however, I have a little treat for you.

Here’s a quick overview of Day 2. I know it’s never going to do a whole day justice by watching a quick 4 minute video, but it will give you a feeling of how professional the speakers were.

Take a look …

Take Action. It’s The One Thing That Makes You Different From The Wannabies …

Internet Marketing 1 Comment

Take action. Most definitely. Even if you don’t have everything perfect.

One of the sessions at the World Internet Summit UK 2007 involved Shaune Clarke taking on a challenge to set up a web-site and start off the marketing process and attempt to actually sell some product before the end of the four days.

Did he manage to do it …?

… let’s just say that the results were … interesting.

More on that in a moment.

Anyway, when Shaune first disclosed the web-site it was functional, but you wouldn’t say it was pretty. Ok, it worked, but the fonts weren’t quite right, the copy wasn’t completely flowing, and the membership site hadn’t even been started.

When he was demonstrating the web-site an attendee asked “Could you show us what happens after you press that button to register?”

Shaune simply replied “If I knew that it would work then yes, but until I get the go ahead from my web-developer I wouldn’t want to risk it”

Yes, the site was live, but it wasn’t finished. Not yet.

But why should we copy such “shoddy” workmanship?

Because he made a sale within 24 hours, that’s why.

And if you don’t do the same then you’ll simply wait until it’s perfect before you take action, and if you do that I can assure you right now that you won’t ever take action, because you’ll always be attending events and purchasing e-books to make sure you have the techniques right.

Trust me, you know enough already (and if you don’t think you know enough then stick around and I’ll tell you some simple strategies which will give you everything, yes everything you need to make money online).

As Sean Roach (yes, there were two Shaune/Sean’s at the event) “Leap, and grow your wings on the way down.”

For example, as soon as I returned from The World Internet Summit, I registered this domain name, and within 20 minutes I had the blog set up. By the next morning I had the forum and several posts all ready to go.

Is the header graphic right? No, not yet. But it that can be solved later.

Have I got the right style and layout in my blog? Perhaps not, but it works for now.

Is the forum in the right colour? No, but it’s the information that’s more important right now.

Leap.

Take action.

Do it.

You’ll then be one step nearer to your goal. Without that simple step, you might never start your journey, will you?

Nike had the right idea …

… just do it :-)

Who’s On First Base? What’s On Second? … Discover The Speaking Line-Up, And Half The Work Is Done Already!

Internet Marketing No Comments

One of the questions many people have asked me since the event (I mean people who didn’t manage to attend!) was “Who was there?”

Good question.

In fact, the more you want to learn, the more important it is to find out in advance who’s speaking at an event, because you can quickly get in tune with whether they’re going to take you further forward in your career.

So, who spoke at the WIS UK 2007 event in London?

Here’s a quick run-down, in order of appearance, and I’ll go into more detail another time telling you about each speaker in turn, ok?

  • Brett McFall and Tom Hua - these guys run the whole World Internet Summit series of events around the world. Brett covered some wonderful material during the course of the event regarding copywriting, and coached us on several important aspects of how to “speak” to our online clients. Tom inspired us all with the history of how he became an Internet Marketer, and how he made his fortune by starting off just selling e-books on the Internet.
  • Shaune Clarke - Shaune ran several sessions throughout the four days, starting with a way to create your vision, continuing with the four day challenge (making money online from scratch during the event), and telling us about his own copywriting and interviewing techniques.
  • Tim Brocklehurst from MyViralSpiral - Tim disclosed some interesting secrets regarding viral marketing
  • Tracey Repchuk - a success story from a previous World Internet Summit, Tracey proved how she took the principles taught to her at the WIS and used those to generate $95,717 in as little as 5 months!
  • Adam Ginsberg - if you’ve ever wanted to sell stuff on eBay or promote yourself or your business on MySpace, then Adam is your man! In two separate presentations he showed us the power of eBay — even selling broken phones, heart shaped potatos and cooked hot-dogs! — and how to gain leverage from MySpace’s huge networking potential.
  • Rick Raddatz - as an ex-Microsoft employee, you wouldn’t be surprised to hear that Rick provides a lot of technical and programming expertise to the partnership with Armand Morin and Alex Mandossian.
  • Sean Roach - one of the best things I learned over the weekend was to “leap and grow wings on the way down”! Sean provided an insight into taking action, and reaping the rewards of getting off your duff (his words, not mine!)
  • Mike Stewart - an expert in audio and video for the Internet, Mike showed us with a very simple demonstration how easy it is to update your Wordpress blog with much richer content, and how you can take those skills one step further to implement a high conversion landing page.
  • Ewen Chia - this guy needs no introduction, because if you’ve ever had anything to do with affiliate marketing online, then you would have no doubt come across Ewen Chia — World’s #1 Super Affiliate! Ewen gave an insight into his autopilot internet income system.
  • Armand Morin - well, what can I say. Armand has been online far longer than most of us, and if you haven’t heard of him then where have you been hiding all this time?! Armand Morin gave away some wonderful content explaining all about Internet Marketing. If you want to see an expert in action, then make sure you get to see Armand speak.
  • Alan Forrest Smith - a copywriter of renown, told us the secrets of how to quickly unleash your marketing genius. We all know that copywriting is key, and Alan showed us how the same-old same-old is no longer appropriate for the next generation of Internet users.

Of course some people spoke many times at the event — notably Brett, Shaune, Tom and Adam. Tim Brocklehurst even gave an extra session after hours on the second day to help explain the complexities of viral marketing and how it applied to MyViralSpiral.

It was a great line up of speakers.

Over the next few days I’ll give a more in-depth review of what people talked about …

… so stay tuned!

Selling Stuff On The Internet Is Easy!

Internet Marketing No Comments

I read once that people don’t want to be told that they’re in a hole, nor do they want to know how they got into the hole, all they’re looking for is a way out of the hole …

… and that really hit home for me over the weekend.

During The World Internet Summit UK 2007, there was mention by one of the speakers talking about copywriting (no it wasn’t Brett McFall for once!) and how you were better off writing as “Target Audience to Target Audience”

What does that mean?

Well, if you were to write a sales letter for an e-book that cured a golfer’s slice, don’t you think you’d write a much better sales letter if you were indeed a golfer looking to cure your own slice? Oh yes, of course you would, because you’d be able to test the sales copy on yourself! — hey, if you didn’t want to buy the product then who else would bother getting their credit card out of their wallet, eh?

It’s the same with any kind of copywriting. Put yourself in the shoes of the buyer (I’ll write some more about this another time)

But here’s the important thing …

… it’s easy to sell stuff on the Internet!

Yeah??!

Yeah! …

… if you’re selling the right thing :-)

You see, if we were going to try to sell an e-book about the reasons why you slice your golf shots, or the ‘top 10 reasons why golfers slice their ball’ (Ed: erm … let me think about that title, and I’ll come back to you …) then I think we’d be onto a loser.

Why?

Because what golfer cares why they slice their shots; they’re more interested in curing their golf slice.

Geddit?

Sell the cure not the cause.

Yeah, it’d make great background reading, and might even be a nice little giveaway product to build your list (oops, giving away some of the Internet Marketing secrets already!), but it’s not going to generate sales. Even if your book is priced at $7. It’s just not going to happen.

So selling stuff is easy on the Internet …

… you just have to sell the right stuff :-)

World Internet Summit - Phew …!

Internet Marketing 2 Comments

Well, you wouldn’t believe the weekend I’ve just experienced.

I’ve just returned from The World Internet Summit 2007 held in London Earl’s Court, and I’m absolutely shattered …

… but it’s a good shattered.

My mind has been stretched beyond recognition, my hand has been shaken by so many networking opportunities, and not only have I met some wonderful people who I hope don’t mind if I now call them friends, but I’ve also decided to change my life around.

Now can you see why I’m so fired up?

I’ll be posting some more items over the next few days, weeks, months — letting you into the secrets that the Internet Marketers don’t want you to know!

Hopefully along the way we’ll have some tremendous fun, and I can help you learn the skills you’ll need to become successful online (hey, listen to me — only the other day I was a “newbie” but now I’m a real life Internet Marketing Guru!) …

… ok, so maybe I don’t know it all, but I want to share with you all the experience of as many people that I can find that attended the event.

Are you looking forward to it already? …

… I know I am :-)
